ADDITIONAL LEADER GUIDANCE AND CHURCH RESOURCES:

2020 Update General Handbook, Section 22, provides church policies, purposes, and procedures for “Providing for Temporal Needs and Building Self-Reliance” to church members.

Welfare and Self-Reliance Products & Services is a one-page summary of the church’s resources, the self-reliance plan form, and more information inspired to help address welfare and self-reliance challenges.

Self-Reliance Plan FormReleased in April of 2019, this form helps leaders with welfare stewardships organize efforts to address welfare/self-reliance cases into five simple steps. It is designed to lighten leader burden, and bring hope, peace, and progress to member’s temporal needs and building their self-reliance. See General Handbook 22.3.3.

Life Help website (also in the Gospel Library App) covers 21 welfare and self-reliance topics, such as addiction, divorce, employment, finances, mental and emotional health, same-sex attraction, single parent families, etc.

Welfare and Self-Reliance Leader Resources website covers the same topics as the Life Help resource, but is geared more for leaders. The Self-Reliance Plan Form and the One-Page Overviews are found in this site.
